About CCR CE (Central Europe)

The energy transition towards a carbon free electricity supply is a European challenge that requires the use of the European electricity system to the full extend. Weather-dependent supply and increasing demand response will lead to a different and more intense use of the grid. Within the Central Europe (CE) CCR, parties involved are aiming to create operational preconditions to optimise the use of the system from a regional perspective and make the single European market a reality.

The CE CCR consists of the bidding zone borders between the following EU Member States’ plus Switzerland bidding zones: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Poland, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.

Parties involved

Within the CE CCR there are 20 Transmission System Operators (TSOs). The information in this section on ENTSO-E website mainly focusses on the projects these TSOs are involved in.

All under supervision of the regulatory authorities of the respective Core countries.
